2018 Irish Senior Championships – ENTER NOW

The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association have just announced details of the 2018 RIBSA Irish Senior Snooker Championships. This year the guaranteed prize fund will be €2, 600.00 and it promises to be an exciting finale to the season.

The Defending Champion is Brendan O Donoghue after his victory over Rodney Goggins last year.

  • How to Enter

The 2018 RIBSA Irish Senior Snooker Championship qualifiers down to the last sixteen, will be held on Saturday the 28th April and Sunday the 29th in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow.

You can now text your entry to 085 2428701. This is a text number only and you must include your name, club and event. You can also contact the host club direct on 059 91 37714.

  • Entry Fees

The cost of entry will be €30.00 for 21 and over. Players under 21 €15.00. Entry for under 16’s will be free of charge.  However, in the event of a no show by an under 16 player the entry fee of €15.00 will be due to RIBSA (All players must be members of RIBSA to play in the tournament)

One day Registration for this event is available at €5.00 if not already a member.

  • 2018 Format

All qualifying matches are the best of 7 frames. The top half of the draw will be played on the Saturday and the bottom half of the draw will be played on the Sunday. Both days will be played down to the Q-finals to qualify 8 players each day.

The Championship Last 16 will be played on Friday 11th of May at 7pm. The Q-Finals will be played on Saturday 12th at 10am. The Semi Final will be played at 6pm and Final will be played on Sunday the 13th of May during RIBSA Finals Weekend in the Ivy Rooms SC.

  • Closing Date

The closing date will be 1pm on Wednesday 25th of April. The draw will be available on the website www.ribsa.ie, as soon as possible.

  • Dress Code

Players must be properly dressed for all RIBSA competitions. The dress code is dark shoes, dark one coloured trousers (no jeans), one coloured shirt buttoned at the wrist and waistcoat. Waistcoats must be worn for all matches. National Waistcoats are not permissible.
