Goggins wins Masters Event 1 Bonnar Engineering Cup

Rodney Goggins from Liam Mellows SC in Wexford won the first RIBSA Masters Snooker Ranking event of the new season sponsored by Bonnar Engineering Letterkenny in Co Donegal on Sunday the 16th of September in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club, Carlow.

In the final Rodney beat Joe Delaney from Dublin 3 frames to nil in a high quality final. In the semi finals Rodney beat Mark Tuite 3-1 while Joe beat Michael Judge 3-0 in the other semi.

The high break went also to Rodney with a 89 Break. RIBSA would like to thank all the players on entering the event and announced this week that after event 3, the top 16 will play-off for a place in Goffs in January in the World Senior ‘Irish Masters’.

Please Note – Closing Dates

The closing date for all Masters Tournaments this season will be 1pm on the Saturday before the tournament. The Draw will be posted on the website as soon as possible. National waistcoats are not permitted to be worn at Masters Tournaments. Text your entry to 085 2428701.

Entry Fees

The cost of entry for Masters Tournaments will be €20.00 plus RIBSA registration of €15.00,Waistcoats must be worn for all matches. National Waistcoats are not permissible. Shane Mason was the TD for the event.

Tournament Prize Fund 

Players are asked to note that the prize fund for tournaments in 2018/19 season will depend on number of entries less tournament expenses.

Prize fund and expenses will be announced on the day at each event. Expenses will include payment of Tournament Director, Referees and payment of €2 per player to host club.

ENTRY INFO

The 2018 – 2019 RIBSA Master Snooker Ranking Series will feature 6 Ranking events and the National Snooker Championships this season.  These rankings will be used to select the master International players.

A Copy of the Rules for all tournaments will be available at the venue.
