The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association (RIBSA) have just announced they will hold their 7th National junior snooker developmental day on Sunday the 30th of December in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow from 11am to 4pm.
Over the past two seasons RIBSA have held Junior Developmental days to encourage more juniors to play our beautiful sport. In the past players from all across Ireland have attended and this upcoming day promises to be another great day.
Hopefully Santa will bring some Snooker Cues and tables to Irish boys and girls this Christmas and any junior player are invited to attend the day with our Irish National Coach PJ Nolan and his team of RIBSA Coaches to learn some skills of the game.
The players will learn about the Stance, Grip, Cue Action, Cue Ball Control and Basic Potting Skills.
All current RIBSA Qualified Coaches who are Garda vetted are also invited to attend the day and the schedule of events is from 10.30am – 11am the players will sign in and warm up.
The day will begin with the players playing some snooker routines with PJ and the RIBSA coaches giving some tips and advice to the players. The players will then be shown how to control the cue ball and then try some more practice routines.
A re-spotted black tournament will also be held. The action will begin at 11am and finish at 4pm.
RIBSA would like to ask all the clubs to encourage as many of their young members to attend this promotion day and help grow the game in Ireland. The cost to each player will be €5.00.
