The Two Daniels win again on Day 3

Daniel O Regan and Daniel Dempsey had another great day in the World Under 21 Snooker Championships here in Beijing China.

Earlier in the day the Irish boys struggled against top class opponents when David Cassidy was beaten 4 frames to 1 by Michal Zielinski from Poland, Daniel Dempsey was beaten 4 frames to 1 by Shachar Ruberg from Israel and Andy McCloskey was beaten 4 frames to 1 by Jake Nicholson from England.

The team needed to get things back to winning ways to improve their Confidence and it was the two Daniels who produced great performances with wins in the evening session.

Daniel Dempsey from Newbridge CYMS won his third match from four games when he beat Luis Chad from New Zealand 4 frames to 3 in a nail biting match on the black to secure his qualification for the knock out rounds already.

Daniel O Regan from Crucible SC Cork also had another outstanding display when he beat Kheng Hui Daric Sin from Singapore 4 frames to 1 to record his third win from four matches to secure his place in the knock out draw with one match remaining.

Tomorrow is a big day for Andy and David as both must win and win well if they have a chance of getting into the knock out rounds. Both Daniel will go in search for their fourth wins.

As the National Coach I am very proud of every player as they are trying very hard and preparing good for each match. The standard is getting higher each year but I am still confident all our four players can still qualify from the group stages for the last 48 knock out round.

All the action starts again at 10am local time (- 7hrs Irish time) Come on Ireland !!!
