Today’s play ended with all the tension you would expect in the quarter finals of the IBSF World Billiards Championships Quarter Final with all the top stars of the game, battling it out on the green baize at the Ivy Rooms in Carlow.
India’s Pankaj Avani beat Singapore’s Peter Gilchrist in the deciding game in the best of seven game format to secure his semi final spot for tomorrow morning at 10am.
World Champion Mike Russell also made it through to the last four with a 4 – 2 win over India’s Ashok Shandilya to keep his hopes alive of retaining the title he won so well last year.
Thailand’s Praprut Chaitanasakun defeated India’s Geet Sethi 4 -2 and Sourav Kothari beat his fellow countryman from India Dhruv Sitwala4 – 2 in the other quarter final match.
