The second RIBSA Open Handicap event was held on Saturday the 12th of October in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow and it was young Aaron Tobin from Youghal who won the event in style.
In the final he beat fellow Cork junior Daniel O Regan 3 frames to 1 in an exciting final. In the Semi Finals Aaron beat Cahal Gordon from Galway 3 frames to 2 in a great match while Daniel beat fast improving Adrian Morrissey 3 frames to 1 in the other semi.
Martin Thorpe had two fantastic wins over TJ Dowling and Rodney Goggins in the early rounds before losing to Cahal Gordon in Q-final.
The highest break prize also went to Aaron Tobin with a 71 Break
The event again was a major success with a total of 22 entries and with big Handicaps from Rodney Goggins – 14 to Oisin Bateman of + 55 it is hoped to attract more and more entries each event to make them even more successful.
