2015 Ladies Final Sherwin Vs Mill

The ladies played the National championships to the last 2 in Newbridge CYMS on Sunday on the 3rd of May. Maria Murray got off to a great start against Claire Mill winning the opening frame; the 2nd frame was close but Mill narrowly won it to level them at 1-1, and then went on to win the next 2 to win the match 3-1. In the same half Michelle French played Kim Cuthbert; Michelle won the match 3-0, but Kim showed she will be a big future contender as it was evident how much her game has advanced in the past few months.

Catherine Fitzsimons played newcomer Jeong Min Park.  The 15 year old played extremely well to win the first 2 frames against the veteran; but Catherine showed her experience and held her nerve to win the next 3 frames to book a semi-final place against Michelle Sherwin.  Sherwin won the 1st frame against Fitzsimons; then Catherine played some solid snooker to win the next frame on the black to level at 1-1.  Sherwin tightened up her play and won the next 2 frames convincingly to book herself a place in the final.

In the other semi Michelle French took on Claire Mill.  Claire won the 1st frame on the pink; had a fantastic blue to black clearance in the 2nd to go 2-0 up; and then ran away with the 3rd frame leaving French needing 2 snookers coming to the colours, Claire finished it off in style to set up a final with Michelle Sherwin for the second year running.

Once again we would like to give a huge thanks to Leo for all of his help and patience this season.
