The Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association (RIBSA) held their third junior snooker developmental day of the season on Sunday the 2nd of July in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow from 11am to 3pm.
RIBSA would like to thank all the clubs who encouraged as many of their young members to attend this promotion day as the day was a huge success with 12 young players attending which bodes well to grow the game in Ireland.
What did they learn?
The juniors were invited to attend the day with our Irish National Coach PJ Nolan and RIBSA Coach Declan Quinn to learn some skills of the game. The players learnt about the Stance, Cue Action, Cue Ball Control and Potting and Break Building Skills.
RIBSA Chairman Jim Leacy attended and said he was very happy to see young boys and girls from 5yrs to 16yrs old attending. Irish junior snooker is on the rise and with the great success of our young Celtic Challenge Champions last weekend the future is looking good. RIBSA will continue to help and support the juniors over the watchful eye of PJ.
More to come!
RIBSA hope to hold more Developmental days next season to encourage more juniors to start playing snooker. RIBSA would like to thank all the players and parents plus Declan Quinn who attended and to the Ivy Rooms for hosting the third junior day.
