The RIBSA Senior team Michael Judge, TJ Dowling, Robert Murphy and John Farrell won the 2017 Home Internationals Senior Snooker Championships in the Northern Snooker Centre in Leeds today.
The Republic Of Ireland Seniors remained unbeaten in the event with six superb wins: Republic of Ireland 10-2 Isle of Man, Republic of Ireland 8-4 Northern Ireland, Republic of Ireland 8-4 Scotland, Republic of Ireland 12-0 Guernsey, Republic of Ireland 9-3 Wales and Republic of Ireland 7-5 England.
Ireland’s John Farrell had the highest break of 132 in the Championship and John also won the player of the tournament winning 16 frames out of his 18 in the event. RIBSA president Eamon Kearns presented team captain Robert Murphy the Prince of Wales shield in front of a large cheering audience.
RIBSA National Coach PJ Nolan said the boys were amazing all week and it was a big honour to be part of this win. It was the first win since 2012 when Brendan O Donoghue, Rodney Goggins, Greg Casey, Johnny Williams and Robert Redmond won the title in Pontins.
