The 5th Ladies ranking event took place in Breaker, Gorey on 9/2/13. The 1st semi-final featured Claire Mill against Michelle French. These 1st two frames were decided on the black in Claires favor, and she took the impetus and ran off a comfortable winner of the 3rd frame to win the match 3-0.  The other semi featured Michelle Sherwin against Sandra Bryan.  The 1st frame was a very close affair, with Michelle only narrowly winning it.  The 2nd frame was also close, but Michelle made a nice clearance on the colours to the pink to win that frame. A few decent breaks at the start of teh 3rd frame set Michelle up well to push her advantage and she won the frame comfortably in the end to win the match 3-0.  Michelle was in top form today and Claire just had no answer to match her.  Michelle dominated all aspects of play on the table and Michelle romped to an easy 3-0 victory in under an hour, to ensure her finishing the season as the Irish number 1 for the 10th year in a row.  Many thanks to Murt and Sandra for their hospitality, the ladies look forward to returning to Gorey for the national 6 reds competition later on in the season.
