The International Under 18 and Under 21 Tour final round of group matches for the Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association players will be played on Saturday & Sunday the 16th & 17th of December.
RIBSA introduced a new system for qualification for the European Under 18 and Under 21 Championships, IBSF World Under 18 and Under 21 Championships and Home International Under 21 Team for the 2017 – 2018 season.
This new system sees our top 10 ranked Irish juniors playing against each other in an International Tour using the same format as International snooker events. Three matches of four frames in each match will be played on the day.
National Coach PJ Nolan will be the TD on the day and it promises to be an exciting finish to the EBSA qualification with the top two players from each International tour will be joined by the Number 1 ranked junior on the Senior rankings to qualify for the European U-18 and U-21 Championships in February.
International Tour – Under 18 Players will play on Saturday 16th December – starting at 10.30am

International Tour – Under 21 Players will play on Sunday 17th December – starting at 10.30am

RIBSA will also hold an Open Tour event on the same day for any underage player not in the International tour. The open events are designed is to build up the confidence of the players and the first events where a huge success with Keith O Reilly winning the first U-18 event while Daniel Merrigan won the first U-21 event and Aaron Smith winning second U-18 while Dyan O Shaughnessy winning the second U-21 event.
