The Republic Of Ireland Snooker Teams has been announced for the upcoming EBSA European Team Championships in Ladies, Masters and Men’s events in Malta.

The four Under 19 players have also been announced for the Under 19 Snooker Championships.

We are sending 2 Senior Teams, 2 Masters Teams, 1 Ladies Team, 4 Under 19's players

On behalf of the EBSA Board of Directors and the Malta Billiards & Snooker Association (MB&SA), I have pleasure in inviting you to send players to take part in:
The 2010 Snooker Team Championships,
The 2010 European Under 19’s Snooker Championships,
The 2010 European Snooker 6 Reds Qualifier & The 2010 Malta Billiards Open ‘EBOS’.

I enclose Entry and Travel-Accommodation forms to be returned
as instructed for a maximum entry of:
- Two Ladies, Two Masters (over 40 at the 1st day of the competition) and Three Men players from each Member Country for the Snooker Team Championships.
- Three Players + a Reserve Player for the Under 19’s Snooker Championships.
(Players must be under 19 on the 31st December 2009)
- One Player from each Member Country for the Snooker 6 Reds Qualifier.

Closing date for entries:
20th February 2010 (ETC, U19’s 6-Reds) (Billiards Open ‘EBOS)

A maximum of 24 international referees will be invited by the MB&SA.
Accommodation will be supplied on a Bed & Breakfast basis, 2 referees sharing a room + 1 meal/day will be provided at the Hotel.
Referees will be nominated by the European Billiards & Snooker Referees Association (EBSRA).

Calendar of events
1. European Snooker Team Championships (ETC):
Tuesday 23rd March @ the Dolmen Hotel
- Players & Referees meeting 19:00
- Opening Ceremony (Everybody is requested to attend in full dress) 20:00
Wednesday 24th March to Thursday 1st April: ETC Round Robin Matches and Final Stages + Closing Ceremony.
The Schedule will be fixed depending of the number of entries. In every match, each Player in a Team will play 2 Frames against all the Players of the opponent Team.

2. European Under 19’s Snooker Championships:
Friday 26th March @ the Dolmen Hotel
- Players & Referees meeting 19:00
- Opening Ceremony (Everybody is requested to attend in full dress) 20:00
Saturday 27th March to Thursday 1st April: Round Robin Matches and Final Stages + Closing Ceremony of the European Under 19’s Snooker Championships.

3. European Snooker 6 Reds Qualifier:
Monday 29th March @ the Dolmen Hotel

4. Malta Billiards Open ‘EBOS’:
Tuesday 30th March to Thursday 1st April @ the Dolmen Hotel

Entry Fee
Please note an entry fee per player to be paid before the start of each event as follow:
- Team & Under 19’s events = € 50 (fifty euro) will be payable to the MB&SA,
- 6-Reds Snooker event = € 100 (Hundred euro) will be payable to the EBSA
- Billiards Open = € 35 (Thirty five euro) will be payable to the EBOS
No player will be allowed to take part if payment is not made.

ROOM RATES
Single: € 60,-
Double or Twin: € 75,-
Triple Rooms: € 95,-
The room rate will include full breakfast.

The first 30 confirmed rooms will be automatically upgraded to sea view rooms.
Furthermore, wherever possible, participants will be given sea view rooms should these be available upon check in. The hotel will also be giving free use of the indoor pool, Jacuzzi and fitness centre to guests for the duration of their stay.

In view of the fact that the competitions end three days before Easter we have made arrangements with the Dolmen Hotel for any participants wishing to extend their stay in to the Easter weekend for accommodation to be offered at the same rates applicable during the competition.

TRANSPORT
Transfers Airport – Hotel – Airport will also be available at a cost of € 20.00 per person and all participants will be greeted by Team Travel Malta representatives upon arrival.
The MBSA has engaged a Destination Management Company “Team Travel Malta” to ensure your arrival, stay and departure will be fully taken care of. A hospitality desk will be situated in the hotel reception area throughout the duration of the competition to give our guests the most personalized attention possible with regards to whatever requirements may arise.

VISAS / VERY IMPORTANT
Visas are not required by most European countries but please check.

FOOD
A good meal can be secured for €12.

CURRENCY
All major credit cards are accepted in the hotel, restaurants and shops.
Local currency is euro (€)

WEATHER
Weather can be changeable, please check with your TV weather programme.

Prize Money for each Event: 1 250.00 € as follows:
Team Winner 600.00 € + 2 Trophies
Runner-up 300.00 € + 2 Trophies

European Under 19’s Snooker Championships
Total Prize Money: 2 600.00 € made up as follows:

Quarter Finalists 125.00 x 4 500.00 €

6-Reds Snooker
Top 4 Players will receive a Grant from the EBSA for the 6-Reds event in July in Thailand.
