RIBSA would like to thank Navan Snooker Club for the use of their facilities and for all their help during the day.
The day started with some hard fought matches. Alan Caulwell managed a 3-2 win over John Dillon. Robert Keena managed to get through to the Last 16 in another close match beating Paul Ennis 3-2. John McBride and James Flaherty both won their Last 32 matches 3-0 winning against Vincent Ward and Peter Dunne. Greg White won against Brendan Griffin 3 frames to 1.
The Last 16 saw Ross Doyle agianst Phil Browne. Ross took a 1 frame lead and had a pink to go 2-0 but Ross missed the Pink and Phil took the frame to go 1-1. Phil took the next two frames to go into the Quarter finals. Alan Caulwell played Paul Hamilton with Paul winning 3-0. Karl Ellis won aginst Robbie Keena 3-0. John McBride played a hard fought match against Eddie Ingle but Eddie ran out a 3-1 win. Phil Murphy was up against Adam Nolan - Phil won the last Intermediate Final against Adam but this time the result went in Adam's favour as he beat Phil three frames to nil. Robert Donohue played James Flaherty and won his match 3-1. The last two Last 16 matches were very close - both going to 2-2. Wayne Doyle managed a Break of 60 to win 3-2 against Paul Tierney and Stephen Reddington managed to get a 3-2 win over Greg White with a 46 break in the final frame.
In the quarter finals Phil Browne rn out a 3-2 winner over Paul Hamilton and stephen Reddington won 3-1 against Wayne Doyle. Robert Donohoe was pipped 3-2 by Adam Nolan. the last quarter final saw Eddie Ingle come from 2 frames down to win 3-2 against Karl Ellis
Stephen Reddington met Adam Nolan in the first semi, where Stephen proved to strong for Adam and ran out a 3-0 winner. The other semi saw Eddie Ingle up against Phil Browne where he managed another close win 3 frames to 2.
The final saw Stephen starting strong when he won the first frame but Eddie played well to take the next two frames. Stephen fought hard in the fourth frame and managed to level the match at 2-2. The final frame saw Eddie take a small lead twice during the frame but Stephen kept his composure to take Eddie down to the final pink and black. After several good safety exchanges and a few half chance attempts by both players, it was Eddie who potted the pink and won the third East Intermediate Event 3 frames to 2.
