Boileau Wins National U-18 Title

Boileau Wins National U-18 Title

The Under 18 national Snooker Championship for 2011/2012 was staged in Sharkx Newbridge on Saturday 13th November.

After a very entertaining and high quality competition Josh Boileau from Newbridge C.Y.M.S. beat Andrew Doherty from Terenure Sports Club in the final. Josh claiming the trophy and title on a score line of 3 frames to 1 to add to his Under 16 championship he won earlier in the year.

Andrew claimed the high break prize with a 49 in the semi-final piping Josh by 1 point. In the plate final Stephen Bateman from Kilkenny defeated his club mate James McGuiness by 2 frames to 1.

Presenting the trophies Ross Traynor of Sharkx snooker club congratulated all the competitors especially Josh, Andrew, Stephen and James and looked forward to hosting more R.I.B.S.A. tournaments in the future.

Tournament director Tony Thorpe thanked Ross and Bernie Traynor for hosting their first national competition in their superb club and for looking after everybody so well.
