O Donoghue beaten in European Final

Irishman Brendan O Donoghue lost in the European Snooker Championship final match 7 frames to 3 here in Latvia tonight.

In the final O Donoghue was beaten by Scott Donaldson from Scotland who had earlier beaten Rodney Goggins in the semi final 6 frames to 2 the day earlier.

Brendan went 0-2 down, 1-4 down and 2-5 down but the Nenagh man kept on fighting hard and got back into the match but eventually the young Scottish potting machine won the title 3-6.

As the National Coach I was very proud of all the players overall performance in this European Championships and both Rodney and Brendan did everything they could to win the title and they did their country proud.
