Nail gun David Cassidy from Cork won both matches on day 1 of the World Under 21 Snooker Championship here in the Republic Of China.
Cassidy beat players from France and Hong Kong in a superb display of match-play snooker when he won against Nathanael Beckrich from France 4-2 and Nanseen Sin Ma from Hong Kong 4-1.
His team mates Karl Fitzpatrick was beaten by Ratchayothin Yothar from Thailand 1-4 but the Carlow man was unlucky in two or three frames and confident he can get his first win tomorrow.
