Cork man Ryan Cronin was beaten by Lu Haotian from China 5 frames to 1 in the last 16 of the World under 21 Snooker Championship here in Wuxi in China tonight.
The Irishman got off to a great start winning the opening frame in front of all Chinese spectators but the China 14 year old potter made breaks of 106 and 104 back to back and 74, 54 and 61 in a spectacular performance.
Team Coach PJ Nolan said that Ryan has made his family and country proud with a string of great performances in what was his first World IBSF Championship. He has gained a lot of experience which is great in his development.
