Sherwin Wins Ladies Ranking Event 6



The 6th ladies ranking event was held in Breakers snooker club in Gorey, Co. Wexford.

The 1st round again seen Catherine Fitzsimons come up against Irish Ladies pool champion Sandra Bryan.

Once again these 2 had a great battle, going all the way to the pink in the last frame. The result this time was reversed in catherines favor, and she won the match 3-2. The 1st semi final seen Treasa Keegan take on Michelle French.

This looked like going the same way as their last encounter at the last tournament when Michelle raced into a 2-0 lead.Treasa showed why she is number 2 in the rankings by changing her game tactic, tightening up and clawing her way back to bring the match back to 2-2. Treasa ran away with the last frame with Michelle needing snookers with 2 reds left on the table, all round a great comeback and victory for Treasa.
 

The other semi-final pitted Michelle Sherwin against Catherine Fitzsimons. This was a great match in which Catherine played her best snooker ever,pushing Michelle in all 3 frames. In the 3rd frame they went all the way to the black with Michelle having to clear the rest of the colours to bring it to the black.

They each had about 6 shots each at a pot but the pressure was too much for both players and they couldnt capitalise on the chances left for them. In the end Michelle potted a long black to win the match.

The final was between Treasa Keegan and Michelle Sherwin and Michelle went on to win this one tokeep up her unbeaten run in the ladies series this season.
