13 year Old Ross Doyle Wins Both Events
On Saturday 20th March the U/16 & U/17 age groups got underway in Monkstown Snooker Club, Dublin.
Once again the competition was excellent.
Ross Doyle dominated proceedings by taking both titles on the day. Stephen Hughes from Monkstown reached his first final having breaks of 20,21,and 35 to meet Ross Doyle in the U/16 final.
Gerard McMahon, Griffith Club had a good day also reaching the U/17 final with good wins over Stephen Hughes and Dylan Carey.
Glen Doyle, Wicklow, won the plate competition beating Dave Bernes, Griffith Club 2-1.
Congratulations to Ross Doyle on his wins and Stephen and Gerard on reaching the finals.
The Stars Champion of Champions under 19s will be held on Saturday 15 May in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club Carlow, check in 1030 neat dress 15 euro entry fee must be under age on the day.

Spainish Players Attend Training Camp With PJ Nolan
Two players from Spain have arrived in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow for a 3 day training camp with our National Coach PJ Nolan.
Javier Gomez and Francisco Rodriguez have travelled to Ireland to fine tune their game in preparation for the European Championships in Romania in June.
Each day the players will practice PJ’s routines and their technique will be analysed using Dvd’s for the players to study when they return home,
A special match was arranged last night with Tony Thorpe and Jim Carrick from Newbridge CYMS
The players are enjoying training in Carlow and they said that the Ivy rooms is one the best training facilities in the world
