This week the annual Trim snooker pro-am was held and with a high class field the snooker was superb. Ken Doherty won the final beating Michael Judge 5-2

GRAY AND CRONIN QUALIFY FOR MALTA UNDER 17's



The 4th successive Invitational European U/17 Snooker Open will be held 5th - 10th of January 2010 in Malta.

Ryan Cronin and Andrew Gray won the Qualfying event on Sunday 25th October in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club - Carlow.

The Two players will be offered free hotel accommodation with buffet breakfast at the 4 star San Antonio Hotel & Spa in Bugibba in Malta

Darragh Muckell won the event beating Patsy Farrell from Nenagh 2-0 in the final.

Johnny's wife Nora and sister Beatrice and young sons JJ and Denis were present at the final, and Limerick Snooker Committee member Jude Meaney paid tribute to them.

A special mention to Neil Madigan for the excellent work done to make this memorial event possible.

6 RED WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP IN IRELAND

The 6 Red World Championships are being held in the INEC, Killarney from the 15th to 18th of December and the entry is now open.

The event will take place with a maximum of 160 players in groups of 5 players and you could be there competing alongside the worlds top pros.

Entry into the event is €150 and the group stages will be held over the first two days with the top two players progressing to the knockout stages on the Thursday.

CELBRIDGE PLAYER OF THE YEAR



Celbridge Snooker Club celebrates its 25th year of their  'Player of the Year' event which begins next Thursday, 15th October 2009.



The event is held every Thursday night and it is open to all players who would like to follow in the footsteps of great Champions on the Roll of Honour.


3 Times Champion - Phil Martin

Past Champions include Brendan Devlin, Alan Caulwell, TJ Dowling, Phil Martin, Tom McKeown and the great Joe Canny.



The Prize fund for this season is
1st €1000
2nd €400
3rd €250
4th €150
5th €100
6th €80
7th €70
8th €50

Over €10,000 in prizes will be paid out through the season.

The reigning Champion is Stevie Cullen.
 
The Cue-0ff is 8.30pm and the entry Fee is €12.00 each night.

The event will use a Handicap system to level out all standard of players.

Championship in Belgium.
