Under 14 Event 1

A great day of junior snooker was played in Celbridge Snooker Club, Co. Kildare on Sunday when Ross Doyle from Dublin won his first ever RIBSA Ranking Event when he won the RIBSA Under 14 Ranking Event No. 1.

In the final Ross played superb snooker to beat Andrew Doherty from Terenure CYM three frames to nil in a high quality final.

Ross now moves to No. 1 on the RIBSA Under 14 Rankings.

11 year old Stephen Bateman from Kilkenny SC and 12 year old Shane Lawlor from Edenderry SC reached the semi finals round in the event.

Both players played excellent on the day and they got great experience and improved their National Ranking before Ross beat Stephen two frames to nil and Andrew beat Shane two frames to nil.

The High Break prize went to Ross Doyle with a fantastic 52 break in the Semi Final.

The Top six Under 14 players at the end of the season will qualify for the RIBSA Celtic Challenge Team for the tournament in Wales from the 25th - 27th July.

I would like to thank Phil Martin and Tom McKeown from Celbridge Snooker Club for the excellent facilities.
