Finals Day in Carlow

The IBSF World Championship Semi Finals had all the ingredients that this great tournament deserved.

Defending World Champion Mike Russell had to muster up all his magic to make it into this year, because at one stage he was in deep trouble trailing by 3 games to 1 game to his semi final opponent Sourav Kothari in the best of eight game format in the 150 up.

Russell is just unstoppable when he is in the groove and the Englishman now based in Qatar rattled off four games without reply to make it through to the IBSF World Championship final, where he will meet Indian superstar Pankaj Advani who had to fight for his life against Thailand’s Praprut Chaitanasakun to make it through to final.

This game finished 5 – 3 also and that will tell you that there is very little between the top eight players in the World, but the dream final is in session today between Advani and Russell it has all the potential to be a mouthwatering match, but Russell wouldn’t want to give Advani a lead of any great significane.
