Josh is the Master

The National under 16 champion last season Josh Boileau continued his fine form this week when he won the Home International team warm up tournament in the Ivy Rooms on Sunday the 5th of September.

In the Tournament the RIBSA Under 16, Under 19, Master and senior players competed in the warm up event for next week’s Home International.

On the previous training day Josh had made the following breaks:

204 in the X Break

125 in the T Break

149 in the Colours Break

91 in the Shovel Break

217 in the Ireland Break

16 out of 21 Long Yellow Pots.

I hope all the players understand that the training routines are one of the best ways to train and improve your concentration to prepare for playing your best snooker in Tournaments.

In the Final

In the final the young 16 year old Naas man beat senior International player Keith Sheldrick from Roadstone SC 3 frames to 1 in the Final to win the €130.00.

In the Semi Finals

Josh beat fellow Under 19 team mate Daniel Dempsey from Sharks SC 3 frames to 2 and Keith beat David Cassisdy from the Crucible SC 3 frames to 1 in the other semi final.

In the Q-Finals

Keith Sheldrick beat Ross Doyle 3-1

David Cassidy beat Ryan Croinin 3-1

Daniel Dempsey beat Aaron Moyles 3-2

Josh Boileau beat Tony Thorpe 3-1

Highest Break

Josh Boileau had also the highest break in the event with an 83 break.

Summary

As National coach I was very happy to see so many players train over the weekend in Carlow either on Saturday when the teams practiced the training routines or on Sunday when they competed in the tournament.

I hope the players can train hard in their clubs over the next few days and prepare their best for Wales as we will need to play our best in Pontins to have a chance to win any titles.

All players are reminded to bring their RIBSA waistcoats and Bow-ties and be in Dun Laoighaire Harbour at 12.00 Midday on Friday the 9th of September. If you need more information contact PJ on 086 8634507
