RIBSA Training Camp Day 3

The final RIBSA training camp was held today in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow with our National Coach PJ Nolan.Three camps in total were held on Thursday the 29th & Friday the 30th Of May and now on Tuesday 17th of June to help prepare our Republic of Ireland players for this years Celtic Challenge.

Training today with PJ was  Charlie Sweeney, Darragh Cusack and Eamon Harkin. Josh Boileau also attended training from 11am – 4pm on the Shender Match Tables. PJ got the players to train various Practice Routines, Practice Matches, Long Potting Drills, Match-Play Mini Games during the Camp.

Each player received a DVD of their action during the lesson and sports psychology audio to help with their mind fitness.

Celtic Challenge 2014 Details

All RIBSA players, officials and supporter will travel on the 9am sailing on Friday 20th June from Rosslare Harbour and return on Sunday 22nd June at 2.30pm. Please ensure that everyone has photo id and be in the ferry terminal at least an hour before sailing @ 8am.

Players should remember bring White Shirt and Bow Tie, Black pants. PJ will bring the waistcoats for players who attended and were fitted at the other training days. Everyone within the Republic Of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association would like to wish all the players good luck in the event.

The event will be held in the Terry Griffiths Matchroom in Llanelli. This event features Irish and Welsh Under 14 and Under 16 players. The team captain will be Charlie Sweeney from Newbridge CYMS, Team Manager will be Brendan Cooney from Youghal.

If any player or club would like to like to book their own coaching session with PJ Nolan who is one of the world’s top coaches they should email for his next available date.

The cost of holding a RIBSA session is €20.00 per hour coaching time plus €20.00 per hour travel time from Carlow plus tolls and parking. If you would like to travel to the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow you can avail of a 2hr session for €55.00 which includes Lights, DVD of the lesson and Technique profile.
