Day 6 of the 2014 World IBSF Snooker Championships here in Bangalore, India had wins for Robert Murphy, Keith Sheldrick but defeats for Josh Boileau, Tom O Driscoll, Stephen Walsh and Michael Judge. Jason Devaney and Anthony Bonnar had the day off.
First up was Keith Sheldrick and the Irishman produced a great win against a former World IBSF masters Champion Glen Wilkinson from Australia. Keith won 3 frames to 1 and he has now won his group.
Tom O Driscoll was beaten by Derek Dudgeon from Scotland 3 frames to nil but the Waterford man easily qualifies for the knock out rounds. His team mate Stephen Walsh was also beaten 3 frames to 2 by Igshaan Stanfield from South Africa but the Carrick man plays his final group match tomorrow and he has already qualified from his group.
Robert Murphy got back to winning ways with a solid 4 frames to 1 victory over Alan Whitfield from Canada. Robert had to win tonight to qualify and the Irishman delivered the goods and he will be a danger for anyone in the knock outs. His team mate Michael Judge was beaten 4 frames to 3 by Mohammed Reza Hassan from Malsysia but the former pro has already qualified from his group.
Josh Boileau was beaten by Fakhrie Gierdien from South Africa 4 frames to 1 and he is now hoping to win his final group match tomorrow and hope other results in his group go his way to help him qualify but I know the Irish U-21 Champion will not give it up easily.
Tomorrow will be the final day of group matches and as the National Coach I am very proud of all the players as they are giving it everything. Action starts at 10am local time and there is still no internet available in the venue but you can follow all the action on www.ibsf.info
