Irish Trio Await Last 48 Draw

The Irish Trio of Rodney Goggins, Brendan O’Donoghue and Mark Tuite have safely navigated the group stages of the IBSF World Championships out in India over the last three days and now wait to see who they will face in the knockout stages. 

Both Rodney and Brendan won their respective matches today to make sure of 2nd place in the groups and will now enter the knockout stages in the Last 48 along with Mark Tuite who finished 3rd in his group after a 4-2 loss today against Pakistan’s Imran Shahzad. 

Rodney had earlier seen off Libya’s Blkasem Dabob 4-0 while Brendan defeated Austria’s Andreas Ploner 4-1 to finish in second behind Egypt’s Wael Talaat. 

All second and third place players will now be drawn into the Last 48 scheduled to take place in the morning while the group winners will await the winners tomorrow afternoon.
