O’Donoghue wins RIBSA Senior Championships

Brendan O Donoghue won the 2017 Republic of Ireland Billiards & Snooker Association National Senior Snooker Championships in the Ivy Rooms Snooker Club in Carlow on Sunday the 7th of May.

In the final were Brendan O Donoghue from Nenagh playing Rodney Goggins from Wexford in the best of 13 frames played over two sessions of 10.30am and 2.30pm. The final Referee was Tony Thorpe. 

In the final Rodney went 2-0 up but Brendan won frames 3, 4 and 5 to lead 3-2 only to see Goggins win frame 6 to level the match at the interval. After the interval Brendan controlled the match to win the next four frames to win the National Senior Title for the third time 7 frames to 3.

The match was live streamed all over the world via www.ribsa.ie and the standard of snooker in the final was high class.. The Tournament high break was 120 by TJ Dowling

2017 RIBSA Finals Weekend

The RIBSA Senior, Masters, Intermediate, Junior Snooker & Billiard National Championships National finals are also being played on the 6th – 7th of May during RIBSA Championships finals weekend in the Ivy Rooms SC.
